Screen Shot 2013-08-16 at 15.29.53Shoreditch’s Google Campus cafe is normally filled to bursting with entrepreneurs and their teams furiously coding, creating, and chugging coffee. Wednesday evening was an altogether more refined affair though, as female journalists and entrepreneur’s involved in the the London startup seen came together for a glass (or two..or three…) of wine and a Spanish themed meal.

But for ads like Marmite’s most recent, it seems that – whether this was a stroke of strategic genius on the brand’s part or not – people seem to violently dislike or defend the ad. There is no middle ground.

The number of digital editions of consumer magazines sold over in the first six months of the year is up by 64 per cent compared with the same period in 2012, according to figures released by the Audit Bureau of Circulations today.

Following in the footsteps of The Times and The Financial Times they are paving the way for more publishers to follow suit and charge readers money for the news content they consume. However, with so much competition from free online news sources, both sites will need to offer exclusive content and a unique perspective in order to convince readers to start paying.

I've been absent from blogging here for a few months, as I've been busy trying to write a fictional eBook about a woman who gets abducted by an eco-survivalist cult.
