Interesting discussion here between futurists Ross Dawson and Gerd Leonhard of The Futures Agency discussing where Twitter is going.

They talk about the “Twitter News Network”, a term originally coined by Jeff Jarvis, as a way of describing what Twitter has beceome as a news distribution platform where news breaks first.

UK do-it-yourself retailer Homebase has joined Twitter this week - following in the footsteps of its rival B&Q, which has been a long-time tweeter, with over 7,000 followers.

I’m not even close to be ing geeky enough to spot half of these game characters in this Sony version of the Star Wars Cantina, but that is Ghost from Modern Warfare. Who else can you spot?

YouTube has launched a new politics channel, as presidential candidates in the United States gear up for the 2012 race to the Whitehouse.

YouTube Politics will feature the latest campaign ads and speeches from both Democratic and Republican candidates, as well as all the parodies, as witnessed by Tina Fey's uncanny portrayal of Sarah Palin in 2008.

Are Promoted Tweets more intrusive than Twitter says?

I’ve seen plenty of exmaples of Promoted Tweets, but never had one permanently parked in my timeline until today when this one from Getty Images appeared.

Not only did it appear yesterday evening but it is still there today and it shows no signs of going away. Considering I’m looking at Tweetdeck every five minutes or so that is pretty annoying and it isn’t at all what Twitter said it would deliver.

Jonathan Mak Long, a 19-year-old designer living in Hong Kong, created this logo recently after Jobs stepped down as CEO. It's named simply, "Thanks, Steve.Sad news today with the death of Steve Jobs. One of the great figures to come out of Silicon Valley has gone. The co-founder and man behind the Apple brand only stepped down as chief executive of the company back in August and sadly has died at the age of 56 after a long battle with cancer.

Mark Ritson, Marketing Week's resident columnist, wrote an interesting article recently called 'You can't trust integrity and innovation'. In it, he pulls no punches in his view of innovation - "?not a single consumer out there gives a **** about innovation. When did you last hear a consumer tell you that they bought a toaster because it was innovative?."
