It shouldn’t be a surprise, but it is when you hear President Barack Obama telling Americans that they need to get online and tweet using the #40dollars hashtag to remind law makers what the loss of $40 means to them. That’s social media from the top.

Last week, Twitter published some handy ideas of how you could use the site to do something romantic for Valentine's Day. "Ask friends and family to share adorable pictures from the past," they suggested. "Finally proclaim your affections to a crush (extra points if it's in a song)," they dared.

The first tweet came from a Twitter user named @ajadiornavy, which was retweeted 48 times: “omgg , my aunt tiffany who work for whitney houston just found whitney houston dead in the tub . such ashame & sad”.

Google's 2011 pop up store in LondonGoogle looks like it could be following Amazon and opening a retail store. Unlike Amazon Google is reported to be planning to open its store in Europe.
