Advertising Week Europe - from web 3.0 and six seconds of story telling | 22 March 2013, 1:00PM | Education, inspiration, connection, innovation and celebration. That is what I was told to expect when Advertising Week Europe (AWE) started on Monday and I must admit they pretty much kept to their word. There were a few things that stood out to me throughout the week most notably how we are on a slow move to Web 3.0 and the death of the TVC and rise of the six seconds of story telling. Education They say every day is a school day and with lectures and seminars abound at AWE it was definitely the case. A few things I learnt were:

| | | Guardian reports record mobile traffic ? its site is too good for iPad sales to rise | 22 March 2013, 11:30AM | No surprise if you ask me that the Guardian's mobile website has attracted record levels of traffic with 17.2 million monthly unique browsers last month. The latest ABC digital audit shows that February 2013 was a record month for the Guardian’s mobile site, attracting its highest ever level of traffic. The figures for February are up 7.9% month-on-month and 44.7% year-on-year. That beats the previous record of 17 million set back in April 2012.
| | | | | The best days to post on Facebook by industry [Infographic] | 22 March 2013, 10:00AM | Interesting infographic here that has analysed the best days for posting content to a Facebook page by various industries from advertising, to automotive, fashion, entertainment, finance and drinks For instance automotive brands are apparently likely to get 15% higher interaction brands on weekend than they are on weekdays. Although most brands do not take advantage of this.
| | | | | | | | | The future of marketing and mobile: 4G and beyond | 21 March 2013, 10:55AM | It was hard to miss the UK's recent 4G spectrum auction, particularly once the bids were in and the value of the auction fell over £1bn below initial government estimates. Perhaps this points to a realisation at the mobile network operators that 4G does not present the scale of commercial opportunity that they had once hoped. So what opportunities will exist for marketers when 4G becomes available to customers of all the major networks?
| | | Labour wins the 2013 Budget Twitter hashtag battle | 20 March 2013, 6:41PM | Labour won the 2013 Budget Twitter battle, with its hashtag #downgradedchancellor. The Labour hashtag was mentioned around 6,000 times during budget day - three times more than the Government's #aspiratonnation. Ed Miliband used #downgradedchancellor as a jibe against the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, who chose Wednesday to join Twitter.
