SXSW: Facebook Graph Search: next big thing or next big flop? | 11 March 2013, 3:33PM | I honestly can’t work out if Facebook's Graph Search is an interesting experiment or something that could actually change the way we search. During a session at SXSW, I enjoyed the fact that the panel opened by asking the attendees to raise their hands if they had used the tool. About half had. That's half of a room full of people who had come explicitly to hear about Graph Search. The second question was even more telling – how many of those who have used it actually found it useful? Less than half again. Not particularly promising.

| | | Tweeting from the afterlife | 08 March 2013, 12:32PM | This one's a bit creepy, but fascinating too. 'LivesOn' is a new Twitter app, designed to tweet for you after you pass away. (Nice one, Darren) Launching in March, the service uses Twitter bots powered by algorithms that analyse your online behaviour and learn how you speak. The app can then continues to scout the internet once you've passed away, favouriting tweets and posting the sort of links you like - creating a personal digital afterlife.
