Kred is a social scoring tool, that monitors how effectively people reach out to their followers on social media. It is similar to Klout and Peer Index, although the latter takes into account more of users social accounts.

Facebook anger over Ryanair fees as passenger gets huge support

Ryanair is a brand that barely exists in social media, but it is an airline that is possibly one of the most talked about. Certainly in the UK and Ireland.

The story of a a woman who was charged €300 by Ryanair for printing six boarding passes, and won the support of more than 357,000 Facebook users after she posted on the airline’s page in just five days, is a prime example of that.

Facebook’s recent announcement that it is to bring online gaming into its offering represents a merging of worlds that will trouble the sensibilities of some.

From now on, the world of Facebook will forever be disturbed by notifications of friends’ successes on the slots and bingo. It is the beginning of a revolution that could easily push large numbers away.

Whenever Silicon Valley companies are sold for around the billion dollar mark, you kinda need to take some time to reflect *why*. Generally it’s not the case that their valuations are driven by their balance sheets or profitability, more their driven by their vision and their market leading position in their specific niche.
Whilst most chat recently has been around Facebook’s IPO, Buddy Media’s $800+ million sale to SalesForce.com has been widely overlooked for its significance – significance of its deal size significance of where it suggests the clever guys at Salesforce / Buddy Media (and its backers, including WPP) think the future (or at least a large part) of advertising lies, which seems to be *social media management apps* (SMM). WildFire’s recent sale to Google for $250+ million also backs up the significance of the SMM space.
