Five of the best online ads of July: Adidas, Refuge, Louis Vuitton, Dove and Ikea
09 August 2012, 2:28PM

Following a request on last month's blog post asking for greater focus on non-TV creative and interactive ads we’ve tried to expand out this month's ad list. Showcasing interactive ads after they’ve run is difficult as the interactivity has normally been taken away but we’re going to do our best for a few months. Likewise the majority of video ads run across both TV and Video (99% for Vindico in the UK and 97% in the US) so it can be difficult to find video only executions, which have also done enough to make the top 5! Again, we’ll try and make sure that we represent these ads as best we can. Feel free to respond and recommend ads to us if you like!

Lib Dems found to be asleep at the Twitter wheel
08 August 2012, 12:09PM

The Liberal Democrats have a history of dozing off on Twitter. Like social media narcoleptics. Whole weeks have gone by this year when the Lib Dem press office has absolutely nothing to say. Not a peep.

Facebook launches new mobile ad unit to capitalise on apps
08 August 2012, 11:05AM

Yesterday Facebook raised the mobile stakes as it made its online gaming debut with the launch of a real cash bingo app.

That’s clearly part of its much needed strategy to make money out of mobile, which will be key to Facebook’s future growth and revenues.

Does my brand need an app or not?
08 August 2012, 9:45AM

Net-A-Porter was the first luxury fashion retailer to launch an iPhone app back in 2009. The increasing fragmentation of communication platforms has presented brands with both opportunities and challenges when talking to their audiences. If anything, the sheer number of digital channels is causing problems for brands trying to convey their message while maintaining brand identity.
