The Olympic Torch Relay route around UK has been laid out and the names of the majority of the 8,000 people who will carry the flame have been disclosed by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Locog).

Channel 4 has secured a deal to broadcast British horseracing exclusively on terrestrial TV for four years from 2013 and is in discussions with Dubai to sponsor its coverage.

McDonald's has struck an eight-week deal with Absolute Radio to sponsor its breakfast shows, which include weekdays with Christian O'Connell, Saturday mornings with Frank Skinner and Sunday mornings with Vicki Blight, for an undisclosed sum.

Carbonated drinks are dominating the soft-drinks category as the recession causes consumers to trade out of pure juice and still drinks and go "back into brands they know", according to Murray Harris, Britvic's customer management director.
